  ** Heppie Needs A Foster Home **

Are You Interested in fostering Hepburn?

Hepburn (aka “Heppie” and “Faith”) is a three year old petite, adorable girl. She is a very affectionate and loving weim, who loves all the petting and affection you can lavish on her. In return, she will give you plenty of kisses and cuddle time. No shortage of love here!

Hepburn gets along really well with adults, and to WCWR’s knowledge, she has never been in a home with children. She is working really hard on her house training and manners and is crate trained. She has had basic obedience training and is very eager and quick to learn what pleases you. Hepburn will require a fenced yard or a family who has the time and area for multiple daily leash walks. In a fenced area, Hepburn will need supervision as she can be an escape artist and climber.  It is felt that Hepburn will need to be an only dog in a foster or adoptive home (NO female dogs) . She has done well in the past with a male dog and may do fine with another male, but Heppie cannot be around other females. Heppie did learn to live with a cat in a previous foster home, but did initially present a high prey drive. If she were to live with cats, the family would have to safely introduce her to the cat with close supervision.

When WCWR learned of Hepburn’s need of rescue, she was found chained outside in ten inches of snow with no appropriate shelter.  She was only two years old and had already been in three previous homes. Hepburn lost her leg when she was allowed to run free and became tangled in fence wire and due to poor care, her leg was amputated. This did not stop Hepburn or break her will; she has an amazing spirit that will creep into your heart and make you love her. Despite her physical handicap, Heppie can do most everything any other dog can do.  This amazing girl wants nothing more than a family who will make her a part of their daily lives and to share all the love and companionship she has to give with you.
