Wolf Creek Weimaraner Rescue Open Annual Meeting

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Mak. I am a former rescue dog from Wolf Creek Weimaraner Rescue. Woof Creek... excuse me, WOLF Creek Weimaraner Rescue, has put me in charge of telling you how very important our annual meeting is this year. I am thrilled at the honor. WCWR will be having its annual open meeting at All Dogs Canine Care Center on Sunday, February 28th, at 1 pm . You'll understand why this meeting is so important in just a minute and why we need YOU. At this meeting, we will be reviewing this past year, our current challenges, as well as the rescue's goals for 2010. Do you love Weimaraners? Then you are integral to our continued success. Bring your enthusiasm! Bring your ideas! This will be a great opportunity to network with fellow Weim enthusiasts and even put some faces to names (finally!)

So, here's the situation. I recently communicated with some of the Weims in West Tennessee, Alabama, Louisville and Washington D.C. Given the economic downturn, we all agree its critical that rescue efforts need to be kicked up a notch. The demands and challenges that come with rescuing Weims are now greater than ever. While we saved and rescued many Weims that needed us in 2009, there was an unprecedented number of Weims in the Southern region that Weim rescue groups struggled to help. The sad reality is that some were not able to be helped. We want to be able to meet the challenges of 2010 head on and we cannot do it without you.

We Need You! Weims, well, we tend to stick together, so I told the pack I would lead this call to action and let our collective howls be heard. Many of our buddies still need help. They can't do it alone....we can't do it alone. If you've ever considered getting more involved with Wolf Creek, now really IS the time.

Aside from sharing your enthusiasm and ideas for strengthening our rescue efforts, I've been told that WCWR will also be voting on board members & reviewing its by-laws. They will also be reviewing the rescue's financial picture. WCWR's success, now more than ever, will depend on you in 2010. We look forward to seeing many new faces at this meeting.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot… while I will not be in attendance, I will be sending my partner this year. Don’t worry though, Mak is on the job and I will be following our progress online at www.wcweimrescue.org. You can count on me to speak for all the Weimaraners who cannot speak. May we count on you?
